     Alice Loretta Lord was born on 26 April 1876 at Banks County, Georgia. She was the daughter of Middleton Gaines Lord and Mary Elizabeth Smith. As of 20 December 1896,her married name was Thurmond. Alice Loretta Lord married James Lucious Thurmond on 20 December 1896. Alice Loretta Lord died in 1935.
