b. 31 October 1840
Robert Washington Wright was born on 31 October 1840 at Clarksville, Red River County, Texas. He married Arkana Elizabeth Gober, daughter of John Wesley Gober and Mary Ann Camp, on 24 December 1865 at Denton, Denton County, Texas.5
"Robert W. Wright was born October 31, 1840, and is a son of James G. and Sallie (Caruthers) Wright, the latter a daughter of Major William Caruthers. James G. Wright is a native of North Carolina, was a physician and practiced in his native State, then in Tennessee, and then in Red River and Lamar counties, Texas and in this State ended a long and useful life, dying a Free Mason. His four children were named---Mauma D., William C., Josephine and Robert W.
Robert W. Wright began his business life as a live-stock trader in Lamar county, Texas, purchasing Spanish ponies in old Mexico and selling them in Texas to great advantage, with the exception of those the Indians stole from him. He next engaged in the cattle business proper, stocking a ranch in Hardeman county, which he still retains, but has a splendid farm in Denton county, to which he gives his chief attention. He married Miss Arkana E. Gober, daughter of John W. Gober, a native of Georgia, and of the twelve children born to this union, eight are living and named--- Mary E., Robert G., Neal M., James W., Fred. E., Mattie M., Inez Vitille and Julia S; the deceased were --- Josephine, Lee Z. (the eldest, who died in infancy) one who died before it was old enough to be named and Sallie L., who died of burns received while playing around the fireplace during her parents' absence from home.
Mr. Wright is a Free Mason and an Odd Fellow, and his wife an ardent worker in the Sabbath-school of the Cumberland Presbyterian church, of which denomination she is a devout and faithful adherent. During the late war Mr. Wright served in Company D., under Captain Canada, of Arizona, in Madison's regiment, and participated in the battles of Mansfield, Pleasant Hill, Yellow Bayou, all in Louisiana and in many skirmishes. On the occasion of Banks' retreat he was in the saddle forty days and at Pine Bluff, Arkansas, his horse was shot in the head, but not killed, however. On returning to Texas from this fight the regiment was disbanded and Mr. Wright united with a party to protect the settlers from Indian incursions in a combat with whom he again had his horse short from under him. Later, July 29, 1866, while in a fight with a gang of white horse-thieves who had run off fifty-three horses, Mr. Wright was shot in his right side, the ball coming out on the left. After the conclusion of hostilities, Mr. Wright resumed a peaceful life of a farmer, and now owns a farm of 620 acres."

Robert Washington Wright was buried at Miami Cemetery, Miami, Roberts County, Texas. He died at Miami, Roberts County, Texas.

William Crow Wright1,2

b. 28 February 1837
William Crow Wright was born on 28 February 1837 at Clarksville, Red River County, Texas. He married Julia Ann Amelia Gober, daughter of John Wesley Gober and Mary Ann Camp, on 7 January 1869 at Denton, Denton County, Texas.3,4 "William Crow Wright is a son of Dr. James G. and Sarah (Caruthers) Wright, the former "William Crow Wright is a son of Dr. James G. a native of Alabama, and the latter a daughter of Major William Caruthers, of Tennessee, which his maternal grandmother was a Pierce. Dr. James G. Wright abandoned his practice in Alabama in 1830, and came to Texas, visiting and sojourning at Harrisburg, Gonzales and Clarksville, the last names in the then territory of Red River, where he was elected clerk of the territory, filling that office at the same time he was engaged in practicing his profession. While at Gonzales, he once rode a distance of one hundred miles to attend a patient, and for the visit received 5,000 acres of land. He was a Royal Arch Mason and a man of universal popularity, and was prominent in every movement for the advancement of the different localities in which he had lived. He was also surgeon in the war between Texas and Mexico.
William Crow Wright was born in Clarksville, Texas, February 28, 1837, and began business by working for five dollars per month, saving from his earnings sufficient money to pay for his education at McKinzie College. After leaving school he clerked in a dry goods store at Sherman, four years, and then gathered together what means he had and went to Mexico, invested his cash in Spanish mares and brought them to Texas. Just at this time the war of secession broke forth and Mr. Wright enlisted in Company F, Madison's regiment of Texas cavalry, and served until the final surrender, passing through twenty-two battles and receiving one wound only, and that, although from a spent grape-shot, came very near killing him; but he recovered, and on his return to Texas, found the State infested with wild Indians, border ruffians, and desperadoes of every character. Mr. Wright at once organized a company for the protection of the citizens, and of this was elected captain and did much to suppress the lawlessness then rife, by warring upon the Comanches and Kiowas and horse thieves. The Indians were under the lead of their chiefs, Big Tree and Santana. For four years these Indians and white desperadoes continued their depredations, plundering and murdering, and driving off the range the cattle and horses, at times capturing as high as a thousand head in one raid; but they yielded at last to the bravery and skill of such men as Crow Wright, and order was again restored.
January 7, 1869, Mr. Wright married Julia A. Gober, daughter of John W. Gober, a native of Georgia. Seven children have been born to this union and are named -- William W., Effie M., Mary M., James G., Eulalie, Crow and Gober. Mr. Wright is a Free Mason and an Odd Fellow, while his wife is a member of the Methodist Episcopal church South; he is one of the wealthiest men in his county, owns 16,000 acres of farming and grazing land, and cattle and horses in enormous herds and droves, to the breeding and marketing of which he devotes his whole time and attention, and now resides on his stock farm at Bolivar, Texas."
