S. fracturing lower third of right humerus with great enlargement of that bone received 19 Sep 1864, at Fort Harrison in the line of duty and service of the Confederate States. He was retired and ordered dto report to the Commandant of the Post at Richmond, Virginia for pay and emoluments. He married Henrietta B. Green in October 1866 at Tennessee. James H. Gober writes as follows: "Gentlemen in Reguard to Discharge I didnt have any it was a Parole as to all of our Papers We Got Them lost in a Cyclone which come on April 13, 1911. Respectfully, J. H.      James Jackson Gober was born on 23 August 1840 at Cobb County, Georgia. He was the son of Hiram White Gober and Elizabeth Burns Gober. James Jackson Gober began his military service on 12 June 1861 at Union City as a Private and served in Mississippi Infantry 2nd Bn, Co. B; in 13 Infantry Co. I and in 48th Infantry Co. B of the Confederate States Army.5 He married Martha Martin on 19 December 1867 at Attala County, Mississippi. James Jackson Gober married Melinda Frances Crawford on 24 September 1874 at Ellis County, Texas. James Jackson Gober died on 12 May 1921 at San Saba County, Texas, at age 80. He was buried at Holt Cemetery, Holt, San Saba County, Texas.
